Organised Day Trip to Akamas
You will enjoy a day in the beautiful and unspoiled Akamas peninsula stopping first to trek into the Avakas Gorge with its stunning natural views, fauna and flora. You will then continue to Lara Bay, the nesting ground of the Green and Loggerhead turtles and home to the turtle conservation project. If you are lucky you may even see the baby turtles hatching (end of July to October). There will be time for swimming at this secluded paradise beach. On your return, you will stop to view the Sea Caves, the mysterious wave cut sculpture formed over thousands of years from the natural rocky shoreline.
Organised Day Trip to Limassol
Your first stop will be the ancient Greek city kingdom of Curium which dates back to the 10th century BC. You will see the many excavations including the complex of Eustolios and admire the magnificent amphitheatre with its spectacular views over Episkopi Bay. You continue on passing by the village of Kolossi to reach the medieval castle, a former Crusader stronghold. From there you drive to Limassol stopping in the old town, close to the medieval castle, Limassol Marina and the market area where you will have free time for exploring and shopping. On the way back you will stop at the Rock of Aphrodite where, according to legend, the Goddess of Love and Beauty was born from the waves and there will be time for a swim.
Organised Day Trip to Kykkos Monastery
Your first stop on the way to the Troodos Mountains will be at the Chrysorriatissa Monastery where you can see this 12th Century monastery, view its vineyards planted in the end of the 18th century produce some of the finest white Ayios Andronicos and Ayios Elias and enjoy the magnificent valley overlooking Kannaviou dam. The tour continues towards Kykkos, passing through the Pafos forest. Arriving at Kykkos Monastery, you will be guided through the renowned and rich Monastery as well as to visit the Archbishop Makarios’ tomb in Throni where you can enjoy the breath-taking view of almost all the islands! You will then drive on to “Timios Stavros” famous for its cross of 25meters high which overlooks Marathasa Valley. Next stop will be Omodos, a traditional wine producing village. Here you can walk through the cobbled streets to reach the village square lined with cafes and shops, visit the church of the Holy Cross and then enjoy a Cyprus coffee in the square.
Paphos Zoo
Pafos Zoo offers a great wildlife experience for those travelling with their family and are looking for a fun day out. The Zoo is the first established and biggest licensed zoo in Cyprus, and is set in a lush and unspoiled natural environment of more than 100.000 sq. metres. It is home to an extensive variety of birds and animals from every corner of the planet. The collection of parrots and venomous snakes is one of the largest in Europe!
